“My father used to work here many years ago. He told me a lot about Boca and I’ve had a passion for the club since I was a kid,”

“I experienced La Bombonera as a fan and as a player. I was told it was a very special experience. It gives you goosebumps.”

“I’m very happy and have high expectations. I feel very proud and excited. I am looking forward to playing at La Bombonera. Thank you for the warm welcome.”

Herrera’s move to Boca means he will link up with a number of former Manchester United players, including Edinson Cavani, Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero.

For Ander Herrera, he started his career as a youth player at Real Zaragoza before moving to Athletic Bilbao in 2011. Then joined Manchester United in 2014 before moving to Paris Saint-Germain and then returning to Bilbao in 2023.

Herrera has always admitted that playing at the Bombonera, the legendary stadium of Boca Juniors, was a career dream.
